During her time with the Bank of Ireland, Murphy, Bank of Ireland Group Architect and Art Curator, bought and commissioned a great many artworks and was one of the country’s leading art buyers. Significant art installations included: New Century House, Mayor St D1; Bank of Ireland Asset Management Mespil Rd D2; and the seventh floor executive offices in Baggot Street. From 2005- 2008 Murphy was also responsible for initiating and delivering a strategic development plan for the collection, this was intended to increase its profile and to provide patronage across all strands of the Irish art community. One of the key elements of the BOI Regional Art Initiatives was the touring exhibition entitled, On Reflection which was held in the following venues:

During this period, and as part of these initiatives, Murphy was also responsible for delivering, The Bank of Ireland Toradh Award for an artist mid-career, and also a regional art college student award. In 2006 Murphy was responsible for initiating the Bank of Ireland and Opus, Art in Architecture awards which reflected her ongoing concern with encouraging architects to work collaboratively with artists.
